• 6:00 am – alarm goes off. Bob & Tom on the radio with a classic Thanksgiving skit. I had already just been dozing but, as usual, spent another 30 minutes thinking about the day before husband ensured I was up.
• Neither of us had early mornings so I fixed bacon & egg sandwiches for breakfast; reviewed email to see if there was anything I could get rid of before getting to office (Yes!); tidied up some things for housekeeper – I know! Classic OCD. Also left list of special projects for housekeeper.
• Morning ablutions; got dressed (Am I going to wear what I was thinking I’d wear? Check weather. Stay with plan.)
• S. drove me in to work since we’d left my car at office last night in order to have one car attending a reception at Bracken House and program at Emens. On the way in, made similar plans for tonight except I’ll go home and we’ll leave from there. (Early morning tomorrow)
• Fixed another cup of tea and went to weekly Leadership Team meeting. Report on discussion from Finance committee. Review presentation for this week’s board meeting. Short meeting.

• Morning post leadership meeting: emails; check into LinkedIn which I haven’t done for weeks. Made some new connections; declined some. Sent some messages. Read a couple of good articles, including one on Economic Impact of Arts (no surprise to many of us). Need to share with others on FB as well as LI.

• Staring at desk and counter top, sure that there is a better way to organize this stuff. Want it neat and tidy before leaving town at end of week. My on-going challenge. How long have we been talking about a paperless society? Ha!

• Sit-to-stand desk really makes a difference in muscles and joints. I just have to remember to use it!!

• Met a member of the “family” today I had not met previously. She had read a recent newsletter and decided we should have a piece of jewelry that belonged to her great-great grandmother. A lovely pin that was beautifully inscribed. The ladies of the family have been coming forward lately to preserve their heritage. Very cool!
• Noon Rotary. Had to leave a little early to meet with a donor.
• Meeting with donor has to be rescheduled. Upon arriving at house, we weren’t on their calendar. Apologies on both sides. (Fundraising 101: Always confirm!) C’est la vie. It was a nice afternoon to get out for a bit.
• More emails. Spent too long on phone with IT trying to figure out why Chrome crashed every time I opened a link to a document in Dropbox. Not IT’s fault; there is actually a support article out there about this very issue. Came up with a work-around but now I may have to learn MS Edge as a browser. I am pouting ‘cause I don’t want to.
• Reviewing said Dropbox docs but have to head home shortly to pick up hubby (S.) and head back out for evening. This was an invitation I didn’t feel I should turn down but would really prefer to eat pizza at home and finish laundry and clothing selection for trip. Leaving Friday and out again tomorrow night. ?
• Got the documents reviewed and response sent noticing one error. Then asked if I had sent HR the link for the TED talk I want shown at tomorrow’s Staff meeting. I don’t recall; easier to download it to flash drive. Or so I thought; not my forte. Finally got it done and working and then was told HR had it already. Sigh. Left office later than I intended.
• When I got home, S. was in old clothes and moving deck furniture into the garage. My first thought was, “What the h—! We have to go!” Tosssed that aside and helped him finish moving the furniture. He had also had a long day. Needed to be done before we leave and tomorrow it’s going to rain. Didn’t take him long to dress and, really, we didn’t need to be there by a certain time. I gotta relax.

• So, the reception was nice and enjoyed the interactions, but did not make up for dinner. The new space at Emens is great. The play was ok, but very long. We left at intermission … after 9:00 pm! It was going to be a very early morning for me tomorrow so …
• Fast food dinner again – in front of the TV – couple of glasses of wine.
• S. off to bed and I reviewed and responded to a couple of emails; re-wound the day in my head; realized I hadn’t finished PPT for Thursday board; checked tomorrow’s calendar; nodded off looking at Facebook; finally got off the couch and headed to bed after 11:00. I really need to get to bed earlier, I thought … again.
