Diarist F56 Day 29

This morning I woke up, had a long quiet time in reading, prayer and journaling while sipping coffee.

I filled my 64 oz water bottle and began working on that. I saw a meme the other day that made me laugh because it said that Gen Xers went their entire childhood without drinking one glass of water. I’m at the tail end of the Boomers, but it was the same for us, and now we work at getting water like it’s a part-time job.

I started some laundry and walked on the treadmill for 2.5 miles. I seem to have lost my running mojo since we returned from the Grand Canyon. I will get back to it, I know, but I didn’t do BSU’s homecoming 5k this year, and I’ve been a little sad over that.

I had a quick practice session at the piano, then around noon, my best friend who lives in Westfield came to visit for about 3 hours. We just sat in my family room and got caught up. We’ve been best friends since the summer before 9th grade and have supported each other through all our lives.

At 3:00, I left to read with students at Grissom, an activity I dearly love. And I can honestly say I love those kids. Next week I’m helping with their Halloween party. This week read a lot of Curious George books (their choice).

I came home, had a small dinner and watched TV before bed.

So I didn’t have an exciting day, but it was a fulfilling one.
